Abstract: In this article the author considers the process of forming bilateralizatsii bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. With the collapse of the Soviet Union changed the geopolitical situation in the post-Soviet space, the consequence of which was the need to establish relations between the former Soviet republics at a qualitatively new level. Beginning of 1990 were decisive in the further development of Kazakh- Russian relations. The author of the article attempted to define the characteristics of interaction between Kazakhstan and Russia on the basis of analysis of the first inter-state documents constituting the legal basis for bilateral cooperation.
