dc.description.abstract Water resources a t 28 known geothermal resources areas (KGRAs) i n the Western United States are reviewed. Primary emphasis i s placed upon examination of the water resources , both surface and ground, that exist in the vicinity o f the KGRAs located i n the sout h - we stern states of California , Arizona , Utah , Nevada, and New Mexico. In most o f these regions water has been in short supply for many years and consequently a discussion of competing demands is included to pro- vide an appropriate perspective on overall usage. A discussion o f the water resources in the vicinity of KGRAs in the States of Montana, Idaho , Oregon, and Washington are also included . en_US
