Abstract:
In the article, the author discussed current issues of legal regulation of cryptocurrency in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the existing prerequisites for fraud associated with the sale, purchase and other exchange transactions. In various countries, the approach to cryptocurrencies is ambiguous. So, if certain countries recognize cryptocurrency transactions, in other countries cryptocurrency circulation is limited. In Kazakhstan, the legal framework governing the circulation of cryptocurrencies is absent, and cryptocurrency is not officially recognized as a monetary unit. It should be noted that cryptocurrencies are not secured by real assets, have no real value and do not entail any persons’ obligations to return money, accordingly there are no guarantees of the safety of investments. These circumstances on the use of crypto currencies can lead to a number of negative socio-economic and legal consequences and the growth of fraud.
